Overland Park-based Searles Valley Minerals found a buyer for its critical mining operation in California, putting it one step closer to concluding a bankruptcy restructuring plan. Key to the sale was an operation that supplies drinking water to a nearby community.

Overland Park-based Price Brothers hired CBRE's Kansas City office to find new occupants for the developer's Valencia Place, which will be almost wholly vacant in 2030 when Lockton moves to Leawood.

The event marks the first time in its 127-year history the American Royal will host competitions in a facility it owns.

The studio focuses on luxury residential projects, including vacation homes in places such as Aspen, Colorado. Founder Andrea Glinn says the work feels more intimate than her previous commercial projects.

Two principals will take over from Anthony Rohr, who led the firm since 2007. Rohr will remain as a principal focused on business development.
