KC crosses home plate on Royals stadium financing, Crown Center master plan

The Kansas City Council on Thursday approved the Royals' $3 billion master plan for a mixed-use ballpark district in Crown Center, as well as funding mechanisms for nearly $1.4 billion in stadium debt service the city agreed to cover over 30 years. The critical votes leave mostly administrative steps before the team can start moving dirt.
