KC-area renters sue private equity-backed landlord, alleging unsafe conditions, failure to fix defects

Three Jackson County renters filed suit against FirstKey Homes, one of the nation's largest private equity holders of single-family rentals. The plaintiffs claim the company knew of unsafe conditions in its homes but rented them anyway and didn't fix the defects when informed.
